South Lawndale is bordered by Western Avenue east, a railroad to the south, the Belt Railway of Chicago to the west and the BNSF Mainline to the north.
The rail lines include former Chicago Burlington & Quincy Mainline, a former B&OCT Mainline, the CTA Pink Line and several spurs.
